HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 21, 2016) – AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX was host to round seven of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Championship. The Dallas area has held a round of the series since 1975, originally in Irving at Texas Stadium, and then in the new state-of-the-art AT&T Stadium since 2009. A massive crowd of 57,755 fans were on hand and Fox Sports One broadcast the race live.
Weston Peick and Phillip Nicoletti both transferred to the main event through Semi Two with Peick winning the race. When the gate dropped for the main event Peick started comfortably in the top-10 with Nicoletti 16th on the opening lap. Peick, who has been struggling with an injured arm for the past few weeks after a late race crash in Anaheim was forced to pull out of the race on lap 16 because he could not safely hold on to the motorcycle. Nicoletti improved over the 20-lap race finishing 15th, Peick was credited with 21st.
The Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga. will be the next stop on the tour Feb. 27. Fox Sports One will air the race live beginning at 7:00 p.m. (EST).
